For Father's Day

Another project made with scraps. The perfect little thing to give Dad, you could almost say it's a quilted card!     Squares   Cut into half square triangles.     And Voila!!     Dimensions: 8" x 23"   Quilted in writing to make it more personal.     Quilted message: Happy Father's Day and We Love You!! Loop for hanging.    Very detailed  tutorial to follow in a few days!

Summer Quilting Plans

Summer is just around the corner and I have been planning several mid and large scale quilts to do in the next three months, YAY!!  First, I have two pending table toppers/runners that are themed for Hanukkah and Christmas respectively, from these fabrics and a charm pack.          I also am going to start my first twin quilt for my daughter who's ten years old. She preferred these Holly Holderman Dolly Dresses 2 and 3 (?) over a more "big girl" feel I thought the Vintage Modern 2012 BOM  would offer.   I better finish this one fast then, before she no longer likes these dresses!     Check out Debbie's Dolly Dresses Quilt here . I can't wait to design my own! I'm going to use some 1930s prints and who knows what else I may throw in the mix, stay tuned!     I am also trying to figure out how many  HashTag blocks  I would need for a king quilt from this great Craftsy Class  by Camillie Roskelley  called Pre-Cuts Ma

Christmas Once a Month Project #5

First, I must beg your pardon as I overlooked the date (15th) for the Christmas Once a Month posts as outlined  here  at Julie's blog. I don't know now if I'm ahead or behind?    In any case, I do hope this project will make up for my oversight. I have had this pattern on my mind since I first worked with half square triangles on this project .  I am happy to say this is one of my own inventions, as I did not use any pattern. Yay! I started with a clear idea and made the rest up as I went along! Some people collect scraps for a giant scrappy quilt, I prefer more immediate gratification by making something more compact in a fraction of the time! Truthfully, finishing something (like a quilt) gives me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment I don't get doing other things;  I'm addicted! One perk was that I did it entirely with leftovers: Squares, 5 inch charms and smaller 2 1/2 inch squares, various strips and yardage I had from another

That Was Easy!

One of the best things about blogging is being able to post ahead of time.  I especially appreciate this option when, during Spring Break and Winter Recess,  I make many things and spread the joy over several blog posts. When school is out, I craft to my heart's content!  I take pictures.  I upload them.  Then, I write a detailed post for each new project I add to the blog. And lastly, I schedule it to come out and hit PUBLISH (that was easy.) So, when work is crazy or my arm or other body part pertinent to crafting is not cooperating... If the Internet is down and the monster test is going on at school... Maybe grades are due or report cards come out ... and on top of all that I'm exhausted and stressed, new crafts keep coming out on the blog.  And everyone is happy! ; )  This has been the case for the last several posts and maybe a few more coming up! Even with some or all of that going on, I managed to do this painless, quicky project for a dog lover I know, just last
